Abstract

The present work deals with a two-fluid model for blood through defomzable tubes of small diameter. This two-fluid model consists of a core (suspension of red cells) and peripheral red cell free plasma layer. The core has been considered as ostwaldian fluid and the plasma layer as a newtonian fluid. Using an implicit difference method to resolve the equations governing such flows, we determine the axial velocity profiles. This study, considered as a step in modelling of flow in blood vessels, may also contribute to other important fields such as water desalination or gel filtration.
