Abstract

Experiments were undertaken, using the model antigen, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), to determine the feasibility of enhancing its gastrointestinal absorption by the rainbow trout, following oral delivery. Use of the antiprotease, soybean trypsin inhibitor (SBTI), and a synthetic detergent enhanced both tissue and plasma levels of HRP. In addition, when delivered in “cocktail” form with both SBTI and detergent, enhanced tissue accumulation of HRP was noted.
