Abstract

This paper proposes a modified transmit antenna selection (TAS)/orthogonal space-time block coding (OSTBC) scheme with reduced feedback-rate and robust error performance in the presence of feedback errors when compared to the conventional TAS/OSTBC scheme. The error probability performance of the proposed scheme in Rayleigh fading channels has been examined via Monte Carlo simulations while the asymptotic diversity order of the proposed scheme has been derived by using high signal-to-noise ratio approximation. We have shown that the proposed scheme provides full diversity order and considerable error performance as the conventional TAS/OSTBC scheme in ideal feedback channel cases and also achieves more robust error performance in the presence of erroneous feedback channels facing both Rayleigh fading effect and additive white Gaussian noise.
