Abstract

To the Editor: Score of Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (SCORTEN) is used to evaluate mortality risk among toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN) spectrum diseases. Some studies mention the need to enhance the efficacy of SCORTEN.1,2 This study aimed to evaluate the epidemiologic features of patients with TEN, characterize the validity and accuracy of SCORTEN, and improve the current scoring system in predicting mortality. Clinical data of 51 patients with TEN (>30% Total body surface area [TBSA]) who were admitted to a referral burn center were retrospectively extracted (2010-2020).
