Abstract

Objective To investigate the efficacy and feasibility of improved balloon exploration and selective bronchial occlusion for the treatment of the refractory pneumothorax.Methods According to the improved order,three-cavity access stone balloon catheter was applied to explore the place of bronchial drainage,after successful positioning,autologous venous blood and thrombin were applied to selectively block bronchial drainage.Results The bronchopleural fistula was successfully blocked.Conclusions The application of improved balloon exploration and selective bronchial occlusion is a safe and feasible method to treat the refractory pneumothorax.
