Abstract

Herein, we report a simple modified methodology based on cationic reverse micelles to form gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with different morphologies and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) according to the phototherapeutic window (650–850 nm), to be applied in nanomedicine. In this sense, with available and simple changes, it was possible to obtain triangles, rods, spheres, truncated-decahedrons, and rings of gold nanoparticles. These structures were obtained with clear crystallinity changes on the different faces in the same solution, with two well-defined and intense absorption bands, which are interesting and applicable in cancer treatments through photothermic therapy.
