Abstract

This paper presents a modified fuzzy controller for direct torque control (DTC) of induction motor capable of reducing the steady state error. The drive is also robust to load disturbance while not resorting to complicated control method. The proposed modified fuzzy logic controller (MFLC) consists of proportional-integral (PI) controller at steady state, PI-type fuzzy logic controller (PI-type FLC) at transient state and a switching mechanism between steady and transient states. So, satisfied performance under steady and transient condition is to be achieved. The experimental results are presented and compared to those obtained with classic PI-control and PI-type FLC. These results confirm the above-mentioned claims.
