Abstract

Electrochemical noise measurement (ENM) is a promising technique for online corrosion monitoring. However, developing suitable data processing methods of ENM recordings for describing corrosion systems with high time resolution remains a challenge. In this work, we introduced the modified approximate entropy (m-ApEn) algorithm to ENM data processing and successfully employed it in the analysis of magnesium corrosion in NaCl solution. This work not only provides a descriptor of m-ApEn to quantify the corrosion activity of the system, but also sheds light on novel data analysis methods of ENM with high time resolution toward corrosion monitoring.
