Modified approach of reactive power dispatch for wind farm voltage constraints of an individual connection point

Abstract

This paper proposes a modification method focusing on the distance-based reactive power dispatch method that is applied in wind farm structures. Due to the continuous expansion of grid requirements, the development of new approaches needs to be more considered. Thus, in a wind farm, considering the voltage restriction for each unit, a modified reactive power dispatch strategy is proposed, that is more advanced than the general dispatch method. In a simulation with PSCAD/EMTDC, the proposed modification demonstrated delivery improvements while complying with the required voltage conditions.
