Abstract

Vocational decision-making and career choice through the use of the Nebraska Career Information System and its QUEST questionnaire is enhanced by the use of examples and clearer descriptive words. Personal counselor involvement is necessary as the student answers the questionnaire regarding interests and abilities. A student's response to the specifc question concerning the level of word usage on a job is highly significant for hearing-impaired students in terms of the outcome of possible career choices to explore. With slight adaptations, this career exploration tool is useful and beneficial to hearing-impaired students in one-to-one situations and group counseling activities.
