Abstract

AbstractAliphatic hyperbranched polyester (P1) synthesized from 2,2‐bis(methylol)propionic acid and tris(methylol)propane was reacted with phthalic anhydride and trimellitic anhydride to form modified polymers P2 and P3, respectively. The reaction kinetics and the effect of different end‐groups on the polymer properties were studied. Contrast to P1, both P2 and P3 could form global aggregates in dimethylformamide/water mixture due to their amphiphilic structures. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
