Abstract

The effect of plasma treatment on osteoinductive properties of ceramics was studied. Yttrium stabilized zirconia scaffolds were taken as a test sample. Human adipose tissue MSCs and 3T3 mouse fibroblasts were used to study osteoinductive properties. Immunocytochemistry and immunofluorescence analyses showed that plasma treatment of ceramics promotes cell differentiation in osteogenic direction. The MTT-test indicated that plasma treatment can cause a small cytotoxic effect.
