Abstract
The increasing use of the irrigation in coffee crop has been changing agricultural machines managing, which affects soil structure. This work aims at evaluating the physico-hydric soil parameters (penetration resistance, water content, soil bulk density and total porosity) with coffee cultivation under four irrigation systems (central pivot, sprinkler in mesh, laser-drilled tubes and dripping) in several soil layers (0 to 0.50 m) at the “cerrado” of Minas Gerais State, Brazil. The experiment was carried out at the School Farm of the Uberaba University (UNIUBE) using a completely randomized design to study the modifications of the physical soil parameters. Soil penetration resistance was greater for laser-drilled tubes. Soil bulk density didn’t differ among the systems or soil layers. Total porosity differed in the layer of 0.20-0.30 m among the systems and the layers. Central pivot presented larger porosity at the same layer.
