Abstract

Methods. The results of the research were obtained through the use of the following methods: abstraction – when determining the essence of the «energy» category; general and specific – when establishing existing connections in the structure of the world energy market; economic-statistical and logical-analytical – when conducting an analytical study of the regional share of crude oil, natural gas and coal production in the world. Results. The article highlights the specifics of the functioning of the world energy market. The views of scientists regarding the interpretation of the essence of the concept of energy have been studied. It has been established that today the global energy industry is at a new stage of development, which is characterized by the strengthening of integration processes, the development of new technologies in the field of extraction and production of energy resources, as well as the emergence of new routes for their transportation. The article defines the key features of the global energy market. The constituent elements of the structure of the world energy market are presented. It has been proven that the basis of the structure of the world energy market is traditional energy. The most popular resources in modern realities are resources that produce thermal energy, such as gas, oil and coal. Analysis of the world energy market model proves that it is quite complex, multivector and problematic and requires extreme attention to overcome problematic aspects. Novelty. It has been established that the functioning model of the world energy market is based on three key components, namely: countries that produce energy resources, transit countries, and countries that receive energy resources. Practical value. The practical application of the obtained research results makes it possible to specify the key elements of the global energy market model. The coordinated interaction of all constituent components forms the model of the global energy market.
