Abstract

The article analyzes the main works of modern Western historians considering the problem of child homelessness in the USSR of the 1920s-1930s. The classification of foreign studies depending on the object of study is proposed. Highlights the main provisions of the works concerning these problems, as well as the specific features of the methodology of the authors. As a result of the analysis, the strengths and weaknesses of Western Sovietology on the studied problems were highlighted, and a conclusion was made about the complementarity of Russian and foreign studies on this topic.
