Abstract

The distribution of HIV infection among different groups in Sumy region is expounded in this article. The most infected people in this region were men with the age range of 18–29years. Sumy region is relatively stable in relation to distribution of the epidemic. There is a trend involving women in the epidemic process, demonstrating an increase in sexual transmission and high rates of infected prisoners. However, the intravenous drugs users (IDUs) remain the highest risk of infection.
