Abstract

An increased spread of infectious disease is a distinctive sign of modern times. The course of infections is accompanied by increase in morbidity, the emergence of new or newly recognized pathogens (HIV, SARS-COVID-19, Lyme disease, Ebola, Lassa and Marburg virus diseases) as well as alterations of immune response to infection. It is of particular importance to highlight resulting issues of diagnostics and treatment of infectious diseases.
