Abstract

AbstractDifferent possibilities for restoration of historical buildings have been studied and presented in this paper. The alternative of a ‘historical restoration’ is shown for the example of a hall of a former slaughterhouse in Berlin (‘Alten Schlachthof’), after detecting the actual corrosion conditions of the hall's steel construction. The reconstruction of an over 100 year old building by using modern coating materials according to DIN EN ISO 12944 is visualised by the example of the Dresden main station.
