Abstract

In economic theory and in specialized literature, there are cases of identifying the concept of “restructuring” with the concepts of “reorganization” or “reengineering”, it is indicated that all radical redesigns of a regional economic complex and its most important processes appear as its reengineering. However, this is far from the case; it is necessary to indicate that the reorganization of the enterprise and its reengineering act only as a separate direction of its restructuring. Restructuring is understood as the process of changing the structure of the regional economic complex, aimed at increasing its economic efficiency through the application of a set of internal measures aimed at enhancing competitiveness, economic stability, the efficiency of the production process and its adaptation to changes in the world and domestic market, as well as for adapting business management systems to market conditions that are constantly changing. In this interpretation of the understanding of restructuring, its main characteristic is noted, namely, a change in the structure of the regional economic complex and an increase in its competitiveness.
