Abstract

The analytical methods that can estimate the probability of formation of harmful topologically close-packed phases and the volume fraction of the useful hardening γ′ phase in nickel superalloys from their chemical composition are considered. These methods are the balance of valence electrons, the balance of electron vacancies, the balance of the energy levels of the d orbitals in the atoms of alloy components, and the balance of covalent electron interactions.
