Abstract

IHTRODUCTION One method of classifying head injuries defines 3 categories on the Glascow Coma Scale (1) where a major injury is indicated by a GCS of 3 to 8, a moderate injury 9 to 12 and a minor injury 13 to 15 (2). Whereas much effort has been devoted to the study of major (3,4) and minor (5) head injury, moderate head injury has received less attention. The aim of this paper was to examine the features associated with mortality in moderate head injury and to identify any preventable factors.
