Abstract

This research explores the moderating role of Islam in education as a preventive measure against cyber terrorism. The study focuses on the concept of Islamic moderation, understanding the phenomenon of cyber terrorism, and the role of Islamic moderation in the educational context. The research employs a qualitative method with document analysis as the data collection tool. The findings indicate that Islamic moderation reflects the principles of the Quran and Sunnah, particularly the concept of ummah wasatan, which is implemented in education. Cyber terrorism, prevalent in various regions, including the educational realm, aims to intimidate and instill fear through digital media. Islamic moderation plays a crucial role in preventing cyber terrorism in education through various approaches, such as the ideological scrutiny of radical organizations, adaptation to local cultural norms, digital literacy, counter-narratives, mastery of digital media, and soft power approaches. Further research is needed to understand the development of Islamic moderation in the face of increasingly complex cyber terrorism threats. This study contributes to maintaining security and stability in the education sector. Abstrak: Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi peran moderasi Islam dalam pendidikan sebagai langkah preventif terhadap terorisme siber. Fokus penelitian mencakup konsep moderasi Islam, pemahaman terhadap fenomena terorisme siber, dan peran moderasi Islam dalam konteks pendidikan. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan analisis dokumen sebagai alat pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa moderasi Islam mencerminkan prinsip-prinsip Al-Quran dan Sunnah, terutama konsep ummah wasatan, yang diimplementasikan dalam pendidikan. Terorisme siber, yang tersebar di berbagai wilayah, termasuk dunia pendidikan, bertujuan mengintimidasi dan menimbulkan ketakutan melalui media digital. Moderasi Islam berperan dalam mencegah terorisme siber dalam pendidikan melalui berbagai pendekatan, seperti ideologisasi organisasi-organisasi radikal, adaptasi budaya lokal, literasi digital, kontra-narasi, penguasaan media digital, dan pendekatan kekuatan lunak. Diperlukan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk memahami perkembangan moderasi Islam dalam menghadapi ancaman terorisme siber yang semakin kompleks. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam menjaga keamanan dan stabilitas di dunia pendidikan.
