Abstract
Two models have been proposed for the Y ∗ 0 (1405) resonance: 1. (a) as an s-wave virtual bound state of the K N-πΣ system, and 2. (b)as a CDD pole arising from high-lying channels. The compatibility of these interpretations with low-energy K N scattering data is analyzed, and it is found that the virtual bound state interpretation is strongly favoured.
