Abstract

This paper demonstrates the flexibility of a command and control modelling approach based upon system structure. The approach is part of a broader scheme for command and control modelling. Qualitative models of four different naval command and control systems are presented: a shipboard Anti-Air Warfare Section; a Type 42 destroyer; a shipboard weapons system; and a Maritime Headquarters unit. The common modelling framework allows the systems to be compared.
