Abstract

The paper presents a survey of the epitaxial growth of magnetic garnets from the standpoint of their application for controlling the technological process of preparing thin garnet films for magnetic bubble memories. In its introductory part attention is paid to the control of the process in order to achieve high reproducibility of the required magnetic parameters. Its further parts deal with diffusion models of LPE kinetics and theoretical and phenomenological models describing the relation between the composition of the melt and the layer, including relevant phase diagrams. It also includes a survey of the physical models of the dependence between the magnetic parameters of layers, their compositions and the conditions of their preparation.
