Abstract
Large-scale system control assumes the involvement of humans thet make decisions obout oystem structure, operaliuri conditions artd plant scheduling with the help of decision support systems (DS3) Various people such as decision-makers, system administrators and builders, and “toolsmiths” nave apparently different views of the DSS. different qualifications and needs and deploy different skills. This paper presents a three-layer model reflecting the differences of varioi human roles. The model includes an external model (EM), a conceptual model (CM), and an internal representation (IR). The use of expert system (ES) techniques to solve several problems within DSS is also presented.
