Abstract

This document presents a symbiotic tourist model for Cano Cristales which is located in the municipality of La Macarena, Colombia, and known as the most beautiful river in the world. The characteristics of the tourism model developed is analysed as a successful strategy of the implementation of the peace agreements. As a methodology, the application of the biological organizational metaphor is used to understand the cooperation processes in the tourist chain. The symbiotic model allows for innovative coevolutionary processes in the region. In this proposal, sustainable development is the main foundation of social, economic and environmental development. It is concluded that the strategies which permit the construction of social fabric, transformation and development in environments of peace and sustainable development make the success of the model possible, both in terms of tourism as well as in the process of consolidation of peace and citizen culture.
