Abstract

The paper presents some considerations on the transient electromagnetic processes (TEP) at three-phase short-circuit in a cylindrical rotor synchronous generator (CRSG) that operates in a network with limited power. The additional assumptions used in simulation are discussed. Based on the simulation results, major conclusions regarding the different previous operating regimes are drawn with respect to the stator, excitation, longitudinal damping windings. The negative influences of an initial high distorting load over the three-phase short-circuit TEP were revealed after simulation.
