Abstract
Recent studies add to the large body of literature on residential mobility by present- ing a fresh view of the residential mobility process. At the micro level, new research sheds light on the joint decision-making by members of a household regarding a residential move, and clarifies the link between place of residence and place of work. There are also many new studies on finding an alternative dwelling if the most preferred house is unavailable. Household relocation is strongly embedded in housing market conditions at the local and national level. Recent studies analyse variations in the mobility process over space and time.
