Abstract

Voltage instability is a dynamic phenomenon and therefore requires dynamic representation of the power system components. Industrial loads contain a large fraction of induction machines. Several models of different complexity are available for the description of aggregate induction machines in voltage stability investigations. This study evaluates the dynamic performances of several reduced induction machine models in combination with the dynamics of a load tap changing transformer.
