Abstract

AbstractA detailed analytical model for novel hexagonal honeycomb structures which are composed of alternate layers of re‐entrant and non re‐entrant features is presented. It is shown that deformation from hinging, flexure and/or stretching of the cell walls can lead to zero Poisson's ratios, a property which is highly desirable in niche applications.
