Abstract

A language for describing combined discrete event and continuous time dynamical systems is presented. The language is an extension of Omola which is an object-oriented modelling and simulation language based on differential and algebraic equations. The discrete event concepts and the simulation procedure are discussed in some detail. Examples of how combined models are used to represent physical systems are provided.
