Abstract

AbstractThis paper improves, with the observation data assembled from Shuangdunzi observation station in Dunhuang in the “Field Experiment on Interaction between Land and Atmosphere in the Arid Region of Northwest China” (NWC‐ALIEX), the land surface parameterizations of the three following aspects: albedo, similarity function and surface roughness length (momentum and scalar roughness length), then uses the improved models to simulate the wind speed, temperature, humidity in the atmospheric surface layer under typical precipitation. The result shows that the improved model can successfully simulate the land surface processes characteristics, especially the radiation and surface temperature. The surface energy is good. Though there is still much work to do, the result is totally satisfactory. In addition, the model incorporates the influences of the surface layer, so the simulations of the wind speed, temperature and humidity of the surface layer is also good.
