Abstract

Diabetic cardiomyopathy represents a unique cardiac abnormality among type 2 diabetic patients, which predispose them to a higher risk of developing heart failure. Effective therapeutic options for diabetic cardiomyopathy are limited. The development of effective treatment for diabetic cardiomyopathy is impeded by the lack of robust preclinical human models. This project aims to establish a pre-clinical human diabetic heart model using human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).
