Abstract

In this work, we address the problem of modelling gas-solid reactors for a sorption chilling machine with internal heat recovery. A dynamic model has been used to simulate the batch operation of a system including a condenser, an evaporator, and two gas-solid reactors. This model considers mass and heat transfer limitations coupled with chemical reaction rates. A simulation program has been developed to supply the transient performance data for a given machine. The mean chilling power as a function of the reactor size can be obtained from an off-fine analysis of the simulated data.
