Abstract

A photovoltaic cell converts solar energy into electrical energy thanks to the photovoltaic effect. This technology is widely used in land and space applications. Many studies are being carried out to improve the models of these cells and for the proper functioning and to bring them to their maximum potency to be obtained. In this article, we present our photovoltaic cell model and for this we choose a GaAs-based pin cell, our studies carried out at the equilibrium of this cell. We used all our calculations on the SIM 3D simulator carried out in the “Component modelling and circuit design” team. This software is designed to study low geometry design components and to determine the volume of a structure, potential distributions and free carrier densities. The SIM 3D is under development by a group from the Mohamed Tahri University of Bechar. Algeria. We will present our photovoltaic cell model and our SIM 3D software development.
