Abstract
This paper describes about the irrigation system with the use of solar power. This irrigation system helps the farmer to perform irrigation without use of commercial electricity. In normal irrigation system, the source of the pumping system is taken from the sub-station. This system is not affordable for the farmers. This solar irrigation system is very useful for farmers because Tamil Nadu gives 90% subsidy for solar pumping system.In this irrigation system we use moisture sensor to know about the amount of water content which is present in the soil. When the amount of water content is decrease in the soil, the pump will ON and after the soil gets enough water automatically the pump will OFF.Here we use GSM module, which send the message to the owner when the water content of the soil is low and high and then send the message to the owner when the irrigation system is ON and OFF. This will helps the farmer to know, when the irrigation system is ON and OFF and then the purpose of ON or OFF of the system.
