Abstract

In this paper, free vibration analysis in the adhesive bonded corner joints have been performed using finite element method of ANSYS APDL code. To establish stability and accuracy of the present work, modal responses (natural frequencies and corresponding mode shapes) are evaluated and compared with the existing literature. The influence of various material properties, laminate sequences and aspect ratio on the modal responses of the joint structure have been investigated in details. From the investigation, it is observed that the Glass/epoxy material having a higher aspect ratio show more resistance to vibration. Further, the significance and sensitivity analysis of various factors are evaluated for the natural frequencies of the adhesive joint. The prediction of modal frequencies is performed using ANOVA and ANN method and the most accurate process has been determined.
