Abstract

This paper describes a parameter identification scheme that operates on a mathematical model of one of the CEGB's Commercial Advanced Gas-cooled Reactors. Parameters in a 10th-order non-linear deterministic model are varied to fit experimental data from two rod movement transients. Two sets of results are analyzed, at low and high power operation of the Hinkley Point B CAGR plant. The values obtained for one of the parameters, the fuel-temperature coefficient of reactivity, are compared with those obtained from the standard CEGB analysis procedure and found to agree within the estimated error bounds.
