Abstract

Abstract Abrasive water jet machining is the foremost, premier non-conventional machining technique that extends a fruitful alternative to conventional techniques as it cuts nearly 12 times quicker when compared to traditional machining techniques. The current study is targeted to predict the abrasive water jet machinability of AA2014 aluminium alloy with aluminium oxide abrasive. The abrasive water jet experiments was conducted on the AA2014 aluminium alloy with the parameters traverse speed, standoff distance, pressure and mass flow rate and depth of cut was measured as the response. Then a predictive model is established using the fuzzy logic technique and with that depth of cut predicted and compared with the experimental results.
