Abstract
A simple model is developed to find the temperature profile of an extrudate in material extrusion (MatEx) additive manufacturing. This model predicts that the temperature has Bessel distribution over the extrudate’s cross-section. For a considered case, the maximum temperature variation over the cross-section is found to be 20 °C, with a diminishing rate of 20 °C/s, and it appears when the extrudate just leaves its extruder.
