Abstract

Turbulent diffusion flames over a solid wall have been widely investigated in connection with various applications, such as ablative cooling, erosive burning, surface combustion of liquid fuels, and fires [1]. Turbulence-flame interactions have been investigated and many turbulence models have been proposed for many combustion fields. However, there has been little modeling of the structure of turbulent diffusion flames over a solid wall. In recent years, the transport process of turbulent kinetic energy in combustion fields has been investigated experimentally [2]. Although it is impossible at present to elucidate completely the transport process of turbulent kinetic energy in combustion fields, some important turbulent structures have been reported.
