Abstract

This paper proposed the framework presenting a relationship between organization type and strategy of logistics center and modeling metrics of measuring the performance on logistics center using Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and Analytic Network Process (ANP). The framework consists of three phases. The first phase begins with designing a balanced scorecard for logistics center. This phase finds out organization types and strategies of operating logistics center and then performance dimensions and metrics of the logistics center. The second phase of modeling the metrics is to design an analytic network hierarchy model with organization type, strategy, dimension, and metric for logistics center. The third phase is to determine key performance metrics. This phase is composed of building pairwise comparison matrices, structuring initial supermatrix and limiting supermatrix, analyzing metrics, and finally determining key performance metrics. This study has contributed to modeling intangible and tangible metrics for korean logistics centers scientifically. A combination of BSC and ANP-based approach provides a more realistic and accurate representation of the problem for measuring the performance of logistics centers.
