Abstract
Due to mosquito habitat heterogeneity, its directional movement has been observed. In this paper, we develop a reaction–advection–diffusion model to explore mosquito populations suppression with sterile insect technique in spatially heterogeneous environments. By employing theoretical analysis, we show that the dynamic behavior of mosquitoes is closely related to their directional movement when the sterile mosquito amount is small. Numerical simulations further verify the theoretical analysis.
