Abstract

Abstract A new tuberculosis model with health education and early therapy is introduced. The early therapy is available for both detected latent and infective individuals. The basic reproduction number R 0 $R_0$ is derived by the next generation matrix. Mathematical analyses show that the disease free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable if R 0 < 1 $R_0<1$ , and the endemic equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable if R 0 > 1 $R_0>1$ . Numerical simulations are also carried out to illustrate our analytical results. Our results show that both health education and early therapy have the positive impact in reducing burden of tuberculosis.
