Abstract
Pore space, pore fluid and the solid minerals control both the seismic behavior and permeability of a rock. Ignoring changes in the mineral matrix, the pore space is used to explain many issues associated with stress, pore pressure, permeability and saturation. The pore space is modeled using a generalization of ideas presented in the paper by Schoenberg and Sayers (1995) to describe the stress, pore pressure, permeability and saturation effects upon seismic.
