Abstract

Heating systems are of importance both from the point of view of social life and as energy consumers and producers of pollutants. The global energy crisis, environmental pollution and divergent global energy policies have imposed new solutions for heating systems. Dual heating systems are one of the viable and future solutions. In this sense, this article proposes a dual heating system consisting of a gas and an electric one whose operation is dictated by a complex monitoring and control system. An algorithm and a cost optimization function are proposed, with which the control strategy of the two systems is chosen. The comparative results obtained from the measurements and the simulation of the proposed algorithm justify the introduction of the dual heating system.
