Abstract

Processing of flat work pieces is one of the most difficult applications of magnetic pulse technology. The main difficulties of using this method are the uneven distribution of the magnetic field in the work piece and, as a result, the low efficiency of the process. Numerical methods, such as finite element models, are widely used to solve these problems. This paper presents the result of the research of pulse magnetic field distribution inside thin-walled flat work piece. The presented results are received by using two-dimensional finite element model. Based on the simulation results, the features of the distribution of the magnetic field, electromagnetic force and thermal field in the presented geometric system are revealed.
