Modeling of Machining Process Planning Based on Inverse Form-shaping Function

Abstract

This paper deals with a model of process planning based on an inverse form-shaping function. A machining process model, defined as the form-shaping function, has been proposed and analyzed by many researchers. If the process planning is considered as an inverse process of the machining process, the process planning model can be easily established by inverting the form-shaping function. To accomplish this, the parametric form-shaping function as the machining process model and inverse form-shaping function as machining process planning model are proposed.
