Abstract

A new model for calculating heat transfer in a homogeneous medium on change in the state of aggregation of a substance is suggested. The characteristic feature of the model is the presence of an extended region of phase transition. The composition of a heterogeneous mixture is introduced as an additional unknown function. A comparison of the numerical results obtained by the proposed model with the solution of the classical Stefan problem is given for a plane case.
